The Classes Clash

The Ruling class maintains control of its agenda through high acceptance of its ideas by the membership, a supportive environment of media, academe and Hollywood that reveres them and disdains all those Americans who are “not them.”   The Country class is diverse in its views and values, speaks with many voices about issues of the day.  Since the democrat party is owned by the elite Ruling class, the Country class has to find a political channel to advance its concerns and gain representation for its interests.

The republican party is an uncertain trumpet when it comes to the interests of the Country class.  But getting engaged with the R party may be the best option for trying to get a voice in the public square.

(Note: the article that is the basis of this summary was drafted in 2010.   The political events since then have created a voice for the Country class, most notably the Tea Party movement followed by the election of President Donald Trump.   To review the article source, America's Ruling Class, click here

The Country Class

The American people are a diverse mix of folks with a broad range of interests.  What many share is a disdain for the Ruling class, oppose their agenda of higher taxes, expanding govt, subsidizing favored interests, social engineering, approval of abortion, etc.  What many have in common is commitments to marriage, family and religious practice.  Its key differentiators are non-interest in govt solutions and a yearning to rule their own lives rather than be ruled by others.

The binding tie of the Country class, including its own self-conscious awareness, is opposition to the Ruling classes insistence that they must rule and the people must follow.   The Country believes American ways are superior to much of the rest of the world.   They are Patriotic, embrace the words “In God we Trust” as our national motto, and respect our traditions as a nation.    The Country class are:

*Dismayed by the loss of control of school boards such as standards, curriculum and school prayer,
*The aggressive, intolerant secularism as the moral and intellectual basis of the Ruling class’s right to rule
*The growth of power and perks of public sector employees,
*Restoration of traditional “police” powers to secure safety of communities, and
*The free expression of faith beliefs in the public square
